Ripening Secure Erotic Functioning

A Consultation Group with
Dr. Karen Berry

You are invited to participate in a monthly consultation group for PACT clinicians who are interested in eroticism and sexuality.  Present your cases and receive assistance with case formulation and the use of practical bottom-up PACT interventions.  Start to think about each person’s erotic development, its implication within the coupledom and how to generate solid interventions for in-session growth. Together we will deepen our understanding of how to move couples towards secure erotic functioning.

The group will also focus on growing your capacity as a clinician to serve as the master regulator, slowing things down and intervening with your couples in a clear sequence of steps. You will learn to track your work and keep your couples focused on the future they are seeking. This requires a nuanced understanding of differentiation, both yours and your clients’.

We will explore:

  • How to think about your cases through the lens of developmental capacities.
  • How to strategically move couples toward secure erotic development including those who present with desire discrepancy and sexual dysfunction.
  • How to operationalize your work with a clear sequence of steps.

Expectations for Participation:

  • The consultation group will meet monthly for 90 minutes
    • Group Meets on ZOOM
  • Your commitment to the group will be for 6 months and you are expected to pay for all sessions even if you are unable to attend. The fee is $150 per consultation for a total of $900 for the 6 months.  You are welcome to pay in full before we start or you can pay in two installments of $450.
